The Dakota County Board of Commissioners on May 9 appointed a new member to the Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board. Holly Oppegard will represent the private sector.
Oppegard is a recruitment marketing specialist for the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community/Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake. She is responsible for influencing talent attraction through recruitment marketing, social media, career fairs, campus recruiting and other programs. She also oversees summer internships, community outreach activities, hiring events and more activities that build partnerships with area businesses, schools and colleges. Oppegard holds a bachelor's degree in marketing communications from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
The Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board oversees employment and training programs in Dakota and Scott counties. It is a state leader in developing innovative programs administered through CareerForce locations in Burnsville, Shakopee and West St. Paul.
