The following school supply events take place in 2017:
Back to School Bash
Aug. 19, 2017, 11–1 p.m., (Serving Northern Dakota County Residents)
- Church of St. Patrick in cooperation with Inverhills Church will be distributing backpacks and school supplies this year. No registration required. Backpacks are available on a first come first serve basis.
- Distribution is at Church of St.Patrick, 3535 72nd Street East, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55076. Free concessions, inflatables and activities will be provided.
- Inverhills Church and the Church of St. Patrick is seeking donations. Volunteers are needed to help pack the backpacks on Aug. 16, 2017 and help at the Back to School Bash.
West Saint Paul Police Department: C.O.P.S. in the Park Event
Community Outreach with Public Safety (C.O.P.S) is an event to build positive relationships with the community. On Aug. 24, 2017 they are sponsoring a community event. This event will feature free food and drinks, activities for youth, community resources and school supply distribution. This event is for West St. Paul residents and will be held at 5–8 p.m. at Southview Park, 275 Westview Drive, West Saint Paul.
- An adult MUST have a child present to receive supplies.
- No backpacks will be distributed.
- As in the past, first-come, first-serve.
Ready, Set, Achieve! School Readiness Event for ISD 194 (Lakeville) Families
This is PK-12 event will be held on Aug. 24, 2017 1-7 p.m. at the Crystal Lake Education Center in Lakeville, 16250 Ipava Avenue. The event will offer school supplies, backpacks, haircuts, spirit wear, clothing, winter wear, dental varnish, community resources and more. Last year, 400 families were served at this event.

South Saint Paul School District
The City of South Saint Paul is working cooperatively with the school district to supply backpacks and supplies to South Saint Paul Schools. Parents should call their child’s school to inquire about school supply assistance.
Neighbors Inc. (Serving Northern Dakota County)
This agency will be referring families to the “Back to School Bash." They will not be distributing any backpacks or school supplies directly.
Dakota/Scott/Carver Salvation Army
There is no school supply event, but backpacks are provided to families who utilize Mission Outpost at Prince of Peace Church at 13901 Fairview Drive, Burnsville, MN 55337.
360 Communities-Family Support Workers
Families with a 360 Communities Family Support Worker assigned to their local school should contact them after Aug. 28, 2017. See attached list of participating schools or call 360 Communities at 952-985-5300.
Families in Rosemount can access school supplies through the Rosemount Family Resource Center, 651-322-5113. School supply registration begins Aug. 7, and they will have space for 150 students to sign up. Distribution is for registered families only, and being held on Thursday, Aug. 24, 6–8 p.m.
ISD 196 School Social Workers
Families in ISD 196 can contact their school social worker or school counselor if they need assistance with school supplies. Dana Brown, with ISD 196 Community Education is coordinating the collection and distribution of school supplies for ISD 196. She can be reached at email@example.com.
Hastings Family Service
Hastings Family Service will serve residents of ISD 200. They will be scheduling appointments for their school supply program beginning Aug. 14, 2017. The distribution event will be by appointment on Aug. 22-24 & 28-29.
This event is for students living in Hastings. Adults must present a photo ID and a current piece of mail marked within 2 week or a current utility bill. They must also have knowledge of income and expenses in the household.
