Service providers connect their client to the Housing Crisis Line, ensure their documentation is in order (social security card, disability verifications), explore other housing options while their client is on the housing wait list (CDA/HRA mainstream vouchers, affordable housing units, etc.) and assist with housing applications once a housing resource is matched to your client.

Housing Crisis Line for homeless and those in imminent risk of homelessness
The Housing Crisis Line (651-554-5751) is for people experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of homelessness. If your client does not fit this description, but is still in need of services, please call Dakota County’s Adult Intake at 651-554-6000.
Average housing wait times vary
The average wait time for a housing resource varies depending on the availability of the housing resource needed by the client. Some persons may experience longer or shorter wait times depending on the specificity of their housing needs.
Providers interested in Housing Support (formerly Group Residential Housing)
Vendors interested in obtaining a Housing Support Agreement for sites located in Dakota County must submit a completed application for review.
Housing Support Application
Applications are reviewed on a monthly basis and submission of an application does not guarantee approval of a Housing Support Agreement.
Dakota County has established priorities to be used when evaluating applications for Housing Support. For more information, review the Housing Support Standards & Priorities.
Email questions and completed applications to Steve Throndson, Social Services, at email@example.com.
