Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Robert Steven Reischauer, age 62 of Apple Valley, has been charged* with five counts of felony Theft in connection with the loss of approximately $113,532 from the Rosemount Area Athletic Association (RAAA) between 2011 and 2013.
The criminal complaint filed today alleges that Reischauer stole this money by fraudulently writing checks to himself and paying for his PayPal and Amazon accounts with Association funds while he was employed as the finance manager for the RAAA. It was discovered that Reischauer had been issuing checks to himself and would delete them from the accounting records he presented to the RAAA board.

Backstrom commented: “This major economic crime is the 14th case involving losses in excess of $100,000 charged in Dakota County since 2009. Financial crimes against organizations involving youth are especially troubling.”
Backstrom thanked the Rosemount Police Department and the Minnesota Department of Commerce Fraud Bureau for their thorough investigation of this case.
Reischauer has been charged by summons, and his first court appearance has been set for August 11, 2014, at 9 a.m. in Hastings.
