Dakota County Chief Deputy Tim Leslie and Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom are pleased to announce the arrest of four individuals as the result of an investigation by the Dakota County Drug Task Force. The Task Force is comprised of deputies from the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office, officers from all cities within Dakota County, and an agent from the neighboring City of Savage.
Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom said that the four individuals taken into custody have each been charged* with one count of Conspiracy to Commit Controlled Substance Crime in the Second Degree and Third Degree: Thi An Mac, age 31 of Burnsville; Nghia Hoang Nguyen, age 31 of St. Paul; Trang Uyen Mac, age 35 of Burnsville; and Trung Van Nguyen, age 39 of Apple Valley.
On the 28th of May, search warrants were executed by the Task Force at five locations in Dakota and Scott Counties:
• 6445 Oxford Road South, Shakopee;
• 4463 Slater Road, Eagan;
• 7295 130th Street West, Apple Valley;
• 13112 High Point Curve, Burnsville; and
• 2109 Royal Court, Eagan.
Evidence seized during this investigation included hundreds of high-quality marijuana plants, a large amount of elaborate marijuana growing equipment, numerous pounds of high-quality finished marijuana product, a large amount of currency, and several vehicles.
Chief Deputy Leslie praised the efforts of the Task Force. Deputies learned of the operation from a neighborhood complaint due to the strong odor of marijuana coming from the grow operation.
