Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Jason Alexander Lott, age 38 of Burnsville, was sentenced today to serve 228 months in prison by Judge Christopher Lehmann in connection with the violent stabbing of his former girlfriend and his attempt to stab her 14-year-old daughter on June 16, 2015, in Burnsville. He was given credit for 275 days served. Lott was convicted January 11, 2016 by a Dakota County Jury of one count of Attempted Intentional Second Degree Murder, one count of Assault in the First Degree and two counts of Assault in the Second Degree.

Backstrom commented: “We are pleased to have brought to justice the perpetrator of this violent crime.”
