Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Anthony Bruce Bartz, age 31 of West St. Paul, was sentenced today to 94 months in prison for Manslaughter in the First Degree in connection with a fatal stabbing that took place in South St. Paul on October 28, 2015, that resulted in the death of James Newman Frank, age 36 of Inver Grove Heights. Bartz previously pled guilty on July 7, 2016 to the crime (Bartz had been initially charged with unintentional Murder in the Second Degree while committing a felony).

Backstrom extended his sympathy to the family and friends of James Frank for their loss.
