In an effort to benefit 360 Communities and the Hastings Family Service Food Shelf, Dakota County Sheriff Tim Leslie invited Hastings Police Chief Bryan Schafer to join him for a “pie in the face” challenge. The “winner” of the challenge would receive a pie in the face. Sheriff Leslie reports that Chief Schafer and the Hastings Police Department won the challenge and he will receive his pie compliments of Sheriff Leslie at 11:15 a.m. on Friday, April 21, at the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office, Jail Training Room. Anyone wishing to witness this event is welcome.
In addition to this challenge, jail staff conducted a challenge of their own. Correctional Sergeant Oppong was the winner of this challenge and will also receive her pie in the face on April 21.
The real winners of the challenge are Hastings Family Service Food Shelf, who received 151 pounds of food and $1,574 in cash donations, and 360 Communities with 888 pounds of food and $380 in cash. Sheriff Leslie wishes to thank all who supported the efforts of these very worthy charities through this challenge.
