Customers will notice service and space improvements at the newly remodeled Burnsville License Center. Dakota County reopened the center Monday, April 10 after a four-month construction project.
The renovated space includes an additional workstation to serve customers. There also is a larger public seating area. Security measures were improved as well. Lighting, carpeting, paint and other improvements rounded out the project.
Dakota County Board Chair Liz Workman, who represents Burnsville, said the remodel will better serve residents and taxpayers.
“We want the customer service experience to be excellent, and I think people are going to like what they see," Workman said following a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Burnsville Chamber of Commerce and county and city leaders.
Burnsville is a busy license center. It served nearly 44,000 customers last year. There were more than 19,000 driver's licenses issued and more than 13,000 vehicle tab renewals, among other services.
Dakota County also operates license centers in Rosemount and Lakeville, in addition to Western Service Center in Apple Valley, Northern Service Center in West St. Paul and the Administration Center in Hastings.
Burnsville License Center is located at 1101 County Road 42.
