Children can dip their hands in a water play table, play games and soak in lots of facts about water during the Dakota County Fair Aug. 5–11. This year's theme in the Dakota County Government Building is Wateriffic: Protect Our Water. Adults and children alike will be able to interact with hands-on exhibits, win prizes and much more while learning why it is important to protect such a valuable natural resource.
Government Building activities for the week include:
- Free reusable metal straws for use at the fair, home and work
- Water play table
- Plinko and foosball-style games
- Aquatic invasive species exhibit
- Art activities
- Information on County resources
The Dakota County Government Building is open noon–7 p.m. Monday, 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Sunday. The Government Building is just south of the flag poles and across from the large parking lot when entering the fairgrounds from Third Street.
