Phone scam
Jury phone scam reported

The Minnesota Judicial Branch has learned of a phone scam where recipients are receiving calls regarding jury service. The public should be aware that the calls are not coming from the Minnesota Judicial Branch.

Residents and prospective jurors from Olmsted, Rice, Dakota, and Ramsey counties have reported receiving a phone message stating that they failed to return a jury summons and were instructed to call 612-216-6287. Someone named Angel answered the phone and started asking probing questions.  

Prospective jurors in Scott County have reported being contacted by someone saying there was a warrant out for their arrest. The phone number the calls came from is 952-607-7895 and the caller identified himself as Major Paul Stevens, Badge 7612.  

People who receive similar calls should report them to law enforcement.
