The Dakota County Regional Railroad Authority is hosting two upcoming open houses to discuss a potential extension of the planned METRO Orange Line, a 17-mile bus rapid transit (BRT) service between downtown Minneapolis and Burnsville Parkway.
The open houses will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12 from 4–6 p.m. at the Kenrick Park & Ride, 16775 Kenrick Ave. in Lakeville and on Tuesday, Oct. 17 from 4:30–6:30 p.m. at the Burnhaven Library, 1101 County Rd. 42 West in Burnsville.
Public input is important in identifying station locations in Burnsville and Lakeville near Interstate 35 and critical to the line’s success. There will be no formal presentation at the open houses, but the public is invited to learn more about the METRO Orange Line, share their viewpoints, and provide ideas on station locations.
Anyone unable to attend can learn about the METRO Orange Line Extension and submit input at www.OrangeLineExtension.com.
