County Road 42 from the west county line to County Road 11 in Burnsville will be rehabilitated this construction season. Several inches of the existing pavement will be removed, or milled, and replaced with new asphalt.
The project also includes pedestrian ramps, crosswalks and signal upgrades at various intersections to improve safety for nonmotorized users. It will also repair storm sewers, sanitary sewer and water main structures and add a right turn lane at Grand Avenue.
Expect delays and temporary lane closures. Signal systems may be on flashing red (all-way stop) temporarily for some of the construction activities. For the safety of both the traveling public and workers, please be patient and drive carefully.

Construction schedule
July 5–9
Bituminous Paving is fully complete. Pavement striping will occur during the night (6 p.m.– 7 a.m.) starting July 5th. Weather permitting, striping will take five days to complete. Traffic delays are to be expected so please consider using an alternate route to get to your destination.
Other small miscellaneous work will occur along the corridor this week.
Thank you for your patience during construction. Please use lower speeds through the construction zone especially during night striping operations.
