Dakota County will be reconstructing 240th Street/Chesley Trail from Blaine Avenue (County Road 79) to Northfield Boulevard (County Road 47) in Castle Rock Township, City of Hampton and Hampton Township. Improving the roadway to current safety standards will reduce the risk for crashes. These improvements include curves, side slopes, shoulder widening, culvert replacement and a new bridge. Turn lanes will also be added where needed.
The new roadway will improve safety and provide for existing and future traffic. Alignment alternatives will be evaluated based on safety, mobility, farmland impacts, residential impacts, implications for township roads and cost.
