Dakota County, partnering with the City of West St Paul, will reconstruct Wentworth Avenue (County Road 8) from Delaware Avenue (County Road 63) to Livingston Avenue in West St. Paul. The project will reconstruct Wentworth Avenue to a two-lane roadway with curb and gutter, wider shoulders, turn lanes at appropriate intersections, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, the construction of drainage improvements, and minor improvements to the water main and sanitary sewer. The project will improve safety, traffic operations and drainage along Wentworth Avenue.

Wentworth Avenue is closed from Delaware Avenue to Humboldt Avenue. See a detour map.
The intersection of Delaware Avenue and Wentworth Avenue is closed for about three weeks, weather permitting. A detour using Dodd Road is posted.
The contractor will continue grading to get the road ready for paving from Charlton Avenue to east of Bellows. Late this week, the contractor will begin to pour curb and gutter. The retaining wall between Delaware and Smith Avenue, on the south side will continue. The retaining wall on the side between Bellows and Humboldt will start this week. At the intersection of Delaware and Wentworth, the contractor is removing the old pavement and curb and gutter and will installing new storm and sanitary pipes. The utility companies will continue moving their facilities along the project limits.
All mailboxes along the project limits will be relocated to Charlton Street, north of Wentworth Avenue. The mailboxes will be placed on the west side of Charlton between the St. Stephen's Church parking lot entrances. See map of mailbox locations.
