Dakota County, partnering with the City of West St Paul, will reconstruct Wentworth Avenue (County Road 8) from Delaware Avenue (County Road 63) to Livingston Avenue in West St. Paul. The project will reconstruct Wentworth Avenue to a two-lane roadway with curb and gutter, wider shoulders, turn lanes at appropriate intersections, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, the construction of drainage improvements, and minor improvements to the water main and sanitary sewer. The project will improve safety, traffic operations and drainage along Wentworth Avenue.

Wentworth Avenue is closed from Delaware Avenue to Humboldt Avenue. See a detour map.
The contractor will finish grading the roadway from Smith to Delaware and begin paving the roadway from the apple orchard to Humboldt later in the week. Curb and driveway aprons will also be poured mid-week. This work is all weather dependent, so if it is raining these activities will be delayed. Work will also continue with the retaining wall on the south side between Smith and Charlton as well as pond excavation at Humboldt Avenue. The fence is starting to be installed on the retaining walls.
All mailboxes along the project limits will be relocated to Charlton Street, north of Wentworth Avenue. The mailboxes will be placed on the west side of Charlton between the St. Stephen's Church parking lot entrances. See map of mailbox locations.
