Work this week will consist of clearing the remaining trees within the project limits. The placement of erosion control (black silt fence and biorolls, which are black tubes of mulch) will start behind the clearing of the trees. The contractor will continue to build the retaining wall between Bellows Street and Humboldt Avenue on the north side of the street and start the retaining wall between Delaware Avenue and Smith Avenue. Also starting on Tuesday, May 28, the contractor will close the intersection of Wentworth and Humboldt to begin removing the curb and gutter and pavement and begin to install new sanitary pipe. Utility companies will continue moving their facilities along the project limits.
All mailboxes along the project limits will be relocated to Charlton Street, north of Wentworth Avenue. The mailboxes will be placed on the west side of Charlton between the St. Stephen's Church parking lot entrances. See map of mailbox locations.
