Dakota County is working with the City of Burnsville to address traffic and mobility needs at the intersection of County Road 11 and Burnsville Parkway.
The project will replace the signal controlled intersection at County Road 11 and Burnsville Parkway with a roundabout. The project also includes some restriping and intersection approach pavement resurfacing.
The city, in partnership with the county, conducted a study of this intersection to determine the best approach for the intersection. Options included replacing the signal systems with a new traffic signal meeting current standards or installing a roundabout. The study identified a roundabout as the best approach to improve intersection operation based on safety, present and future traffic. It will also fit with the County Road 11 3-lane roadway section.
