Dakota County, in cooperation with the City of West St. Paul, is proposing to reconstruct Wentworth Avenue (CSAH 8) from Delaware Avenue (CSAH 63) to Humboldt Avenue. See project location map.
Wentworth Avenue is an important east-west roadway in northern Dakota County that provides connections to Robert Street and Mendota Heights. Wentworth Avenue also provides direct access to multiple residential and commercial properties, West St. Paul City Hall and West St. Paul Sports Dome. Wentworth Avenue is currently a two-lane roadway with narrow shoulders, no turn lanes, no pedestrian accommodations, deteriorated pavement.
The proposed project will reconstruct Wentworth Avenue to a two-lane roadway with curb and gutter, wider shoulders, turn lanes at appropriate intersections, and pedestrian facilities. The project will improve safety, operations, and drainage along the Wentworth Avenue. The City of West St. Paul is also proposing to install new sanitary sewer along the corridor.
