Dakota County, in partnership with the City of Lakeville, is proposing to reconstruct the intersection of County Road 9 (Dodd Boulevard) at Icenic Trail/Heritage Drive to restrict through movements from Icenic Trail/Heritage Drive. Construction is tentatively scheduled for summer 2020.
County Road 9 (Dodd Boulevard) is a four-lane road that was last reconstructed in 2001. An engineering review found the intersection experiences a crash rate and severity of crash rate well above the state average.
Dakota County and the City of Lakeville have prioritized the intersection for improvements in the 2020 construction season. To improve safety, this project will implement an intersection change that will restrict through and left turn movements across County Road 9 (Dodd Boulevard) from Icenic Trail/Heritage Drive. Removing potential conflicts between vehicles by restricting the crossing of two directions of traffic will improve safety and efficiency of the intersection.
To provide updates, the county will host public meetings, a project website, business owner meetings, and one-on-one meetings with impacted property owners.
