Online library card
Register for a library card online and get immediate access to electronic collections, including e-books, electronic magazines, audiobooks and more, free of charge.
Student cards
For schools participating in our
student card program, your school district's three-digit number followed by your student ID provides you with instant access to online one-on-one homework help, research tools, e-books, audiobooks, electronic magazines and print books — all fine free at the library.

Express library services
The library is open for
express services. Drop by to pick up holds, find items on the shelf, check out items or use a computer. You can also use
Curbside Pick-up to pick up books and other materials at any Dakota County Library location. If you are unable to visit the library and use Curbside Pick-up, try our
Books by Mail service.
Computer & Wi-Fi access
Computers, printers and scanners are available for use at all Dakota County Library locations, no library card required. You can also bring your own laptop or device and use the library's
free Wi-Fi to access the internet in our library parking lots.

Wi-Fi hotspots & Chromebooks
Check out a Wi-Fi hotspot or a kit containing both a Wi-Fi hotspot and Chromebook laptop for free internet service at home or on the go.

Help with your homework is just a mouse click away.
HelpNow provides online tutoring for kids in grades K–12 and college in both English and Spanish. Live tutors are available from 1–11 p.m. daily.
FAFSA assistance
Live, online FAFSA assistance is available through
HelpNow to assist anyone who needs help completing the FAFSA form for student financial aid.
E-books and e-audiobooks
Browse a wide collection of
