The Dakota County Board of Commissioners is hold a Housing Workshop on Tuesday, June 11, 1:30 p.m. at the Western Service Center, CR L139.
The Board formed a Shelter Leadership Work Group in May 2017. The group was tasked to explore options to address shelter needs for single adults in Dakota County, specifically examining the County role in those options. The work of the work group led to the development of a four-year Housing Business Plan.
The goal of the Housing Business Plan is to create adequate housing and service resources to address the underlying issue driving the need for shelter: lack of available, affordable, accessible homes.
Staff will update the Board of Commissioners on the results from the first year of implementation and discuss recommendations for the remaining years of the plan.
