The Miesville Ravine Park Reserve will have several improvements in 2026. They include improvements to Cannon River Trailhead and Lower Trout Brook Trailhead.
The project started design in December 2024. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in spring 2026 and completed in 2026. The project has a budget of $1.8 million in construction.
The improvements will include:
- Creating a new gravel entry road and turnaround with parking
- Adding a carry-in boat launch
- Adding two fishing access points
- Restoring the existing picnic area
- Upgrading the existing half-mile loop trail to meet Americans with Disabilities Act requirements
- Providing drinking fountain
- Replacing the footbridge and trail realignment
In addition to the site improvements, interpretation elements will be provided as part of the project. The site has rich natural and cultural resources that would need to be carefully considered.

Trailhead closed through November 2026
The Miesville Ravine Park Reserve improvement project site is now closed to the public through November 2026. Gates to both parking lots are closed. The following amenities will be closed during construction:
- Parking lots
- Vault toilet
- Nonmotorized boat access to the Cannon River
- Shelters
- Hiking trails
Fishing access to Trout Brook will still be available from County Road 91/Miesville Trail on the northern end of the park reserve during the project.
During the construction, the Cannon River Trailhead and Lower Trout Brook Trailhead will be closed.
The project received funding from the Parks and Trails Legacy Fund.
