Part of the
Thompson County Park Master Plan includes a pollinator promenade and restored stream. The county has completed design for this work and plans to start construction this fall.
This project will create a path alongside a restored stream bed. A variety of native trees and plants that engage the senses will line the path. New interpretive signs will be installed along the walkway.
Initial tree removals have occurred in preparation for construction. Timing of the removals was based on wildlife permitting requirements.
Currently, the project is recommended to be funded through the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund. It is awaiting legislative approval.
Funding for this project was provided by the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund as recommended by the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR).
