Part of the
Thompson County Park Master Plan includes a pollinator promenade and restored stream. The county has completed design for this work and plans to start construction in September. Temporary, short-term closures of the Lake Loop Trail and the River to River Greenway are expected. Detour signage will help direct visitors.
This project will create a path alongside a restored stream bed. A variety of native trees and plants that engage the senses will line the path. New interpretive signs will be installed along the walkway.
Funding for this project was provided by the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund as recommended by the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR).

Short-term trail reopening
The area that was closed for construction during the fall is reopened for winter. It will be closed again for the completion of construction in the spring through early summer 2026.
Only one small section of trail remains closed for the winter. Please follow all posted signage and keep out of construction area.
