All-Terrain Track Chairs

​​​​Girl sitting in a track chair in front of Lebanon Hills Visitor Center.Track chairs are all-terrain, electric powered chairs that can be used on hiking trails within Lebanon Hills Regional Park.

The track chair is used to navigate hiking trails and explore areas of the park you may not have previously had access to.

Reservation ho​urs (conditions permitting)

Location: Lebanon Hills Visitor C​enter

Regular hours: Daily, 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m.  

Track chair must be returned to the visitor center by 4:30 p.m.​​

Closed holidays:

  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

Free of charge

Equipment available by online reservation or in-person

Reserve a chair online or by calling the Lebanon Hills Visitor Center at 651-554-6530. You will be asked to sign a waiver. No other documentation is required.

There is a 3-hour limit per reservation.

Reservations can be made online until 2 p.m. the same day. To guarantee equipment, make an online reservation.

​​Check in an​​d chair transfer

Please check in at the Lebanon Hills Visitor Center greeting desk. You will be asked to sign a waiver if you have not made a reservation online. Park staff will provide access to the storage and transfer area. Park staff are not available to assist in transfer to or from the chair.

 

Reser​​vation policy

Users under the age of 18 can use reserved equipment if the equipment was reserved by a parent or guardian over the age of 18. Reserved equipment is for use in Lebanon Hills Regional Park only.​

Use guide​lines

  • It should not be operated in water over 2 inches deep.
  • The chair is designed to transport one person only. Do not give rides to others or carry pets while operating the chair.
  • Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • The weight limit is 300 pounds.
  • The chair cannot be transported in a private vehicle or offsite.

Safety pr​​ecautions

  • Practice steering in an open area. Always be cautious of other people near you.
  • A companion is encouraged in case of emergency.
  • The track chair can climb inclines encountered on the designated trails. Steeper inclines could be enough to tip over in any direction. Do not attempt to climb or go over stairways, unexpected trail obstacles (e.g., downed trees), or any obstacle off the designated trail.
  • When climbing over small branches, rocks, roots or small curbs, approach at an angle. Do not approach straight on or chair could tip.
  • Seat belt and safety harness must be worn while in operation. Use of leg restraints is recommended.
  • Power off chair before being seated and before getting out. It can be tilted down (forward) to help with loading and unloading.
  • Transfer boards are available for use, but park staff are unable to assist with transfer.
  • Failure to know the limits of the track chair can cause personal injury or equipment damage.
