Come celebrate the newest trailhead and trail segment of the Mississippi River Trail made possible by Dakota County, the City of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Friends of the Mississippi River and Flint Hills. Festivities will include a community bike ride, ribbon cutting ceremony, activity stations along the trail, interpretive programs and ice cream social.
Thursday, Aug. 15, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Community bike ride departs Pine Bend Elementary (9875 Inver Grove Trail, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55076) at 5:30 p.m. Bring your own bikes and bike trailers. Bike helmets required. Ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6 p.m. at the trailhead.

Free. Onsite parking is very limited. Overflow parking available at Swift Transportation (11380 Courthouse Blvd, Inver Grove Heights). Look for signs directing you to the park. It's a 6-minute walk to the trailhead. Golf carts will be available to assist with shuttling as needed.
Ice cream will be provided (free).

The event is light rain or shine. In the event of severe or significantly rainy weather, event staff will determine if the event will be cancelled 2-3 hours before the event start time.
