Dakota County’s newest park, 456-acre Whitetail Woods Regional Park, is located in Empire Township in the center of Dakota County, one mile north of the Vermillion River.

The park is bordered by the Vermillion Highlands Modified Wildlife Management Area to the east and the Vermillion River Wildlife and Aquatic Management areas to the south. The University of Minnesota’s UMore Park lies directly north of the park.

Currently, there is no access to this park. It will open to the public in fall 2014.

Grand Opening Celebration
The Whitetail Woods Regional Park Grand Opening event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The event will be fun for all with local music, great food and activities for all to enjoy. Find out more.
