Pay Property Taxes

You have many different options for paying your property taxes. You can pay:

By mail
You can mail your property tax payment to:

Your payment must be postmarked on or before the due date or penalties will apply. Checks should be made payable to: Dakota County Property Taxation & Records. If your taxes are not escrowed, pre-addressed envelopes are included with your tax statement. 

In person
Current property taxes can be paid by check or cash at many different County locations. Find out more.

By phone
You can make a credit/debit card payment or electronic transfer from your bank account (either checking or savings) by phone, using the automated phone system.

Call 1-866-366-5191 to pay over the phone. (A 2.5 percent convenience fee will apply for credit and debit cards; a $1 convenience fee will apply for transfers from your bank account.)

If you are paying prior year taxes, you must call 651-438-4576 for a payoff amount.  Your transaction is not complete until you receive a confirmation number. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards are accepted.

Online
You can make a credit/debit card payment or electronic transfer from your bank account (either checking or savings) online, using the Official Payments automated system (A 2.5 percent convenience fee will apply for credit and debit cards; a $1 convenience fee will apply for transfers from your bank account.).

You will need your Property Identification Number to pay online. If you are paying prior year taxes, you must call 651-438-4576 for a payoff amount.  Your transaction is not complete until you receive a confirmation number. Through direct payment
A recurring option to have your taxes automatically deducted from your bank account on the due dates.  Tax payments will be deducted from your bank account until you give us a written request to be removed from this program. Find out more.
