 Website accessibility

We recognize the importance of providing a website that is accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities. Our current website platform has limitations that may affect its accessibility. We are actively working to address these issues through a new website platform project that began July 2025. While that project is ongoing, the county continues to address accessibility issues associated with its current website.

If you encounter any accessibility barriers while using our website, please email dakotaweb@co.dakota.mn.us. In it, please provide:

  • Your contact information
  • Web address of the material
  • The problem you've experienced

You may also call 651-438-4419.

We'll respond with the information you are seeking. In addition, we'll attempt to correct the issue in the current website platform.

The county’s new platform is being designed to comply with the U.S. Department of Justice’s recent rule on website and mobile application accessibility under 28 CFR Part 35, which implements Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The updated website is expected to be completed and launched in summer 2026.

In the meantime, if you experience any difficulty accessing content or services on our website or have other comments or feedback, please contact us as indicated, so we can assist you directly.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work toward a more inclusive digital experience for all.

The Dakota County website may contain links to publications and websites that are not controlled by the county. Links are provided as a service to our audience to provide additional information where applicable.

Accessibility design guidelines

We work to comply with Section 508 (as well as WCAG 2.0 A and AA) referring to website accessibility standards.

If you have difficulty accessing the site or have any comments or feedback, please do not hesitate to contact us at dakotaweb@co.dakota.mn.us or 651-438-8396.
