A non-certified copy is a plain paper copy of a birth record. Non-certified copies are for informational use only and cannot be used for legal purposes. If you need a certificate for legal use, please see information from the Minnesota Department of Health for certified birth certificates.

Each additional non-certified copy of the same record issued at the same time: $9
The Burnsville, Lakeville and Robert Trail License Centers accept Discover and MasterCard. License centers do not accept Visa.
The Administration Center and Northern Service Center DO NOT accept credit or debit cards.

Purchasing in person
Anyone can get non-certified copy of a public birth record. You must complete an 
application. Some records are confidential and can be issued only to certain people.
Bring the unsigned form and fees to one of the locations listed above.
