Dakota County will crack seal about 17.7 miles of roadway in 2026. This work includes cleaning out cracks in the pavement and filling them with sealant. Crack sealing is done to extend the life of the pavement. Work will occur on the following segments:
Crack sealing
- County Road 4 (Butler Avenue) – Highway 52 to Concord Street N. in South St. Paul
- County Road 5 – Interstate 35 southbound ramp to County Road 42 in Lakeville and Burnsville
- County Road 9 (Dodd Boulevard) - County Road 60 to 160 feet southwest of Hayes Avenue in Lakeville
- County Road 11 - County Road 42 to County Road 38 in Burnsville
- County Road 28 (Amana Trail) –County Road 63 to Highway 3 in Inver Grove Heights
- County Road 46 (160th Street) – Highway 3 to 0.25 miles east of County Road 48 in Rosemount, Empire and Coates
- County Road 50 (Elm Street) – Vermillion Bridge to Highway 3 in Farmington
- County Road 60 (185th Street) –County Road 9 to County Road 23 in Lakeville
- County Road 64 (200th Street) –County Road 23 to Flagstaff Avenue in Lakeville
- County Road 70 (210th Street) –County Road 70 west County Line to 800 feet east of Kenrick Avenue in Lakeville
Lane closures
Temporary lane closures will be necessary to complete this work. A flagging operation will be in place on two-lane roadways. On four-lane roadways, one lane will be closed. Traffic will be shifted to the other lane in that direction. Delays are expected. Use alternate routes, if possible.
