County Project 43-55
Dakota County and the City of Eagan are working on the preliminary and final design of Lexington Avenue (County Road 43). The project is from Cliff Road (County Road 32) to Wescott Road. Construction is planned for summer 2025.
Project background
Dakota County completed a study in 2022 that recommended a 4-lanes to 3-lanes reduction between Diffley Road and Wescott Road. Pavement and trail surfaces along Lexington Avenue and the signal system at Diffley Road are aging and need upgrades.
The proposed project will:
- Resurface County Road 43
- Convert County Road 43 from 4-lanes to 3-lanes between Diffley Road and Wescott Road
- Evaluate pedestrian crossing improvements near Northview Park Road
- Resurface trails
- Construct accessible pedestrian ramps
- Upgrade the signal system at the Diffley Road intersection
