Great River Energy Easement Enhancement

Page Content

Great River Energy rebuilt and improved about 0.85 mile of an existing Great River Energy transmission line in Lebanon Hills Regional Park.

Benefits to Dakota County Parks

Great River Energy, in partnership with Xcel Energy,  established native, pollinator-friendly habitat within the transmission line easement area. The upgrade of the new line allowed for the retirement and removal of the existing Xcel Energy line that bisected Lebanon Hills Regional Park . All above ground structures were removed, and the former easement area will also be restored to native vegetation.

Winter 2019/2020:  Wreck-out of old Xcel Energy line, foundation installation and transmission line construction
