Sustainable building features of the Schaar’s Bluff Gathering Center

  • Light sensors interactively monitor lighting levels, saving energy.
  • On-site wind turbine generates electricity for building energy needs.
  • More than half of construction waste was recycled, reusing our resources.
  • Rainwater is captured in underground cisterns and used for flushing toilets, reducing water use.
  • Toilet partitions and countertops made from 100 percent recycled products, reusing our resources.
  • Water-based, low-VOC sealers and paints, improving indoor air quality.
