All library staff can get you started in the iLAB, but some of the equipment is complex and takes time to learn. Here are a few ways to learn how to use the equipment.
Learn on your own
Next to each piece of equipment is a notebook with tips to get you started. There is also a list of
iLAB Learning Resources and Tutorials, such as videos and manuals for specific pieces of equipment or software.
The Library’s Lynda.com database contains excellent, professionally produced video and written tutorials for many of the professional tools such as in the Audio/Video Production area and the Creative Design stations.
Book a Librarian
Book a Librarian appointments are 30-minute, one-on-one meetings with a librarian. They can be made in person or by calling the Wescott Library at 651-450-2900.
Take a class
The Library has been offering 3D printing and 3D design classes. Check out class offerings.
The Library will consider closing the iLAB at selected times for educational opportunities or encourage community experts to volunteer in working with people one-to-one in the spaces.
