Online library card
Register for a library card online and get immediate access to electronic collections, including e-books, electronic magazines, audiobooks and more, free of charge.
Student cards
For schools participating in our student card program, your school district's three-digit number followed by your student ID provides you with instant access to online one-on-one homework help, research tools, e-books, audiobooks, electronic magazines and print books — all fine free at the library.
Visit in person
Computer access
Computers, printers and scanners are available for use at all Dakota County Library locations, no library card required. You can also bring your own laptop or device and use the library's
free Wi-Fi to access the internet inside the library or in our library parking lots.
Homework Help
During the school year, volunteer tutors are available to help with homework assignments for K-12 students at the Galaxie and Burnhaven libraries.

Study and meeting rooms
All nine library locations have individual study rooms available on a first-come basis. Meeting and conference rooms are
available for reservation for larger groups.

HelpNow provides online tutoring for kids in grades K–12 and college in both English and Spanish. Live tutors are available from 1–11 p.m. daily.
