Lake Byllesby Regional Park is nestled in the scenic Cannon River Valley on Lake Byllesby Reservoir, the largest lake in southern Dakota County. This beautiful park offers vast open space for a variety of year-round active sports or quiet recreation for company picnics, family reunions or other large and small group gatherings.

The boat launch will be open for use starting Wednesday, April 15.

Repairs to Lake Byllesby Dam start in September
The water level in Lake Byllesby will be lowered around Sept. 7, so repairs can be made to Lake Byllesby Dam. The low water levels will impact recreational boating. The boat launch in the park is anticipated to be closed after Sept. 7.

Prescribed burns from end of March through May 31
Dakota County Parks will be conducting prescribed burns at Lake Byllesby Regional Park as conditions allow. Prescribed burns are controlled fires that are used to improve the growth of native vegetation, including trees, shrubs, grasses and wildflowers. The exact times of the burns cannot be determined more than a day in advance due to weather conditions.
