County Project 97-225
Dakota County is realigning Harry Avenue and the Mills Town State Trail in Lake Byllesby Regional Park. The project will create a safer trail crossing at Harry Avenue.
Project overview
The project components include:
- Gravel road realignment
- Trail paving and realignment
- Fence relocation
- Prairie restoration
Project timeline
- March 2026: Design complete
- April 2026: Construction bidding
- May-June 2026: Construction
Construction updates
- Harry Avenue will remain open to the public, but use caution and be aware of construction equipment and construction workers in the area.
- Mill Towns State Trail from the boat launch to the bridge will have temporary closures and minor detours onto Harry Avenue while grading, concrete and paving work occurs on the realigned trail.
- For the week of May 18, traffic control signs will be installed as well as erosion control sediment control log. Other construction activity will include vegetation grubbing, fence removals and minor grading for the new road and trail alignments
