Josephine Ann Powers, 27, was sentenced today in Dakota County District Court for the shooting death of 70-year-old Michael Robert Riccio, Dakota County Attorney Kathy Keena announced.
Judge Stacey Sorensen Green sentenced Powers to a 261-month term. In February, Powers entered a guilty plea to second-degree intentional murder. The defendant will receive credit for 669 days already served.
Christopher Michael Hawkins, who was also involved in this matter, entered a guilty plea to aiding an offender accomplice after the fact. The sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 18 in Hastings.
