Monitor and protect your most valuable assets from fraud with Property Watch.
Property Watch helps residents combat the effects of property fraud and other fraudulent activities. The service is free.
How it works
-
Subscribe to Property Watch. Enter your name and your property's legal description with your email. Your legal description can be found using
Property Information Online. Please refer to the attached user guide if you need assistance.
- Receive an email alert whenever a future document is recorded with the matching name and property legal description. That is the only time you will receive an alert.
- If you have questions about the document recorded, you can contact Property Taxation & Records at
records@co.dakota.mn.us or 651-438-4597.
Property Watch can monitor a name, entity or property for real estate activity. You can create one or more alerts. These are sent when real estate records are recorded with Dakota County.
Upon signing up for Property Watch, the system will monitor your parameters from that day forward.
When subscribing for this service, common names like “John Smith" could produce many results. The more data provided at sign up, the narrower the results will be.
