Dakota County Deputies Respond to Armed Domestic Incident in Ravenna Township
Ravenna Township, MN—On May 20, 2025, at approximately 12:15 p.m., Dakota County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the 15000 block of Ravenna Trail in Ravenna Township for a reported domestic disturbance involving a firearm.
Upon arrival, deputies established contact with a female victim who advised she was in fear for her life. Deputies were able to evacuate the victim from the residence through a second story window to safety. She was evaluated on scene and is in good physical condition.
Deputies briefly made contact with the suspect who quickly retreated into the residence and refused to exit.
Deputies secured the area and South Metro SWAT was dispatched to the scene. Using advanced technology, including drones, SWAT personnel were able to locate the suspect inside the home.
He was found with a serious injury to his upper neck. SWAT members immediately began to provide emergency medical care and the individual was transported by ambulance. His current condition is stable.
Preliminary investigation findings show multiple firearms, including both handguns and rifles, were recovered from the scene.
“This was a dangerous and dynamic situation," said Dakota County Chief Deputy Bianconi. “I'm proud of the bravery and courage shown by our deputies in the face of danger in rescuing the victim and navigating a quickly evolving situation. I also commend the South Metro SWAT team for their skillful response and use of technology in resolving a very complex incident."
