The Dakota County Board of Commissioners has appointed two new members to the Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board. Andrea Miller will represent the private sector and Jeremy Miller will represent the public-labor sector.
Andrea Miller is president and owner of Stampings of Minnesota, Inc. in Lakeville. She is responsible for overseeing the operational activities of the organization at every level. She has more than 20 years of experience as a manufacturing executive and extensive experience in all levels and stages of sales development, operations management and benefits administration. Her interest in serving on the board is “deeply rooted in my personal journey and passion for empowering others."
Jeremy Miller is a business representative for the St. Paul Plumbers Local 34, where he helps union members find jobs, advocates for jobsite safety and helps to promote plumbers and the plumbing industry to various groups. A plumber for more than 30 years, he previously worked for the City of St. Paul as a plumber and water inspector and has extensive experience working on residential, commercial and industrial projects. He looks forward to serving on the board to “help lead people to find meaningful employment."
The Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board oversees employment and training programs in Dakota and Scott counties. It is a state leader in developing innovative programs administered through CareerForce locations in Burnsville, Shakopee and West St. Paul.
