Dakota County will be reconstructing Nicolai Avenue (County Road 91). The project is from 240th Street (Highway 61) to Miesville Trail in the City of Miesville and Douglas Township.
The project components include:
- Reconstruction as a 2-lane highway
- Widened paved shoulders
- Replacement of culverts and drainage improvements
Tree clearing will begin towards the end of March. Because of Federal Endangered Species Act requirements related to the protection of the threatened northern long‑eared bat, all tree clearing must take place between Nov. 1 and April 15. Conducting this work during the winter months ensures that potential summer bat habitat is not disturbed. The species is in hibernation during this period.
Drivers should expect flaggers and delays throughout the project. Please allow extra time for travel, watch for construction signage and be cautious while driving through the construction area.
