County Project 38-061
Dakota County and the City of Burnsville want to improve traffic safety along County Road 38 (McAndrews Road). They studied the area between County Road 5 and Aldrich Avenue.
What was studied?
In 2025, the county and city did a study to find ways to improve safety, mobility and meet transportation goals. They looked at:
- Safety and mobility for all users
- Nonmotorized crossing enhancement opportunities
- Short- and long-term improvements for the future
- How much space is needed
- How utilities might be affected
- Drainage and environmental concerns
- How much the project might cost
Project overview
The project components include:
- New Signal at Burnhaven Drive
- Roundabout at Irving Avenue
- Signal modifications at County Road 5
- Trail and sidewalk construction
- Private access management
- Intersection improvements
- Public engagement
- Right of way acquisition
