County Projects 42-179 and 42-180
Dakota County and the City of Rosemount are planning intersection improvements along County Road 42. Intersections include Business Parkway, Biscayne Avenue, 145th Street and Auburn Avenue.
The intersection improvements take into account:
- Area traffic growth
- Expected development
- The future Rosemount Middle School at the intersection of County Road 42 and Biscayne Avenue
These improvements are consistent with the 2022 County Road 42 Corridor Visioning Study.
As part of the project, the county will conduct a pedestrian trail gap study on County Road 42 from Highway 3 (Robert Trail S.) to County Road 73 (Akron Avenue). The study will evaluate the opportunity for multi-use trail along County Road 42. This would close a high-priority gap in the county's trail system. The project includes evaluation for a grade separated multi-use trail crossing of County Road 42.
The project team will also work with the school district on potential future trail system connections to the future Rosemount Middle School.
