Dakota County, in cooperation with Douglas and Marshan townships and the City of Miesville, is proposing to reconstruct County Road 91 (Nicolai Avenue) from Trunk Highway 61 to 210th Street. The construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2020.
County Road 91 is a major collector roadway, critical to the broader transportation network in Dakota County. The base of the roadway has reached the end of its functional life and is in need of upgrading. Ongoing maintenance issues, as a result of the surrounding surface drainage, are another major driving factor in initiating this project. The project is in the early stages of design where the team will look to improve the roadway safety through the addition of paved shoulders, possible turn lanes, ditch modifications and lighting at intersecting roadways.
To provide updates on current and accurate information, the County will host a series of public meetings, project website, newsletters, social media updates as well as one-on-one meetings with impacted property owners. Before then, if you have any urgent questions, please do not hesitate to contact Bobby Kuennen (Project Manager) at 952-891-7028 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
