This greenway will connect Lebanon Hills Regional Park to Whitetail Woods Regional Park. The 11-mile greenway will travel through downtown Rosemount, the Dakota County Technical College campus and the University of Minnesota's UMORE property. The greenway will connect with the Vermillion River Greenway, the Rosemount Greenway and the greenway hub at Lebanon Hills Regional Park.
The project will develop a feasibility study and preliminary design report for about 1.3 miles of the Vermillion Highlands Greenway. It spans segment one and segment two as identified in the
2012 Vermillion Highlands Greenway Master Plan from 155th Street to Connemara Trail.
The project will identify a preferred trail alignment and tunnel crossing of County Road 42. Other amenities will include:
- Connections to local trails, sidewalks and park amenities
- Wayfinding and interpretive signage
- Landscaping
- Other features consistent with Dakota County Greenway Standards
Preliminary design, environmental assessment, survey and engineering work and the public engagement process will begin spring 2022 and extend through summer 2023. More updates will be posted as they become available.
