The Office of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) provides geographically based information to residents, other governmental units and County staff.
The Office of GIS is primary source for geographic information for Dakota County. It provides finished maps and raw data to the public; mapping, analysis and programming services to county departments; and assistance to city and township governments.
The Office of GIS is located on the third floor of the
Western Service Center in Apple Valley and open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office is closed on all federal holidays.

Physical Development Division offices (third floor): One terminal with applications for viewing map products offered for sale, Dakota County Property Information Online. Low-quality, black-and-white map printing is available (8 1/2" x 11", cost - $2.40 plus tax). Mail label printing is available (cost - $2.40 plus tax).
