On Saturday, May 29th at approximately 5:45 p.m. the Dakota County Sheriff's Office responded to a possible drowning on Crystal Lake in Burnsville. The Dakota County Sheriff's Office dive team began recovery efforts that lasted late into the evening. At approximately 11:25 p.m. deputies recovered the body of the victim identified as 36-year-old Matthew Brust.
At this time, the Sheriff's Office has learned that Mr. Brust and his girlfriend were on a boat and she fell into the water. Mr. Brust jumped in to help her.
