Your broken vacuum and TV and damaged clothing can be rescued by handy volunteers who will help residents repair household items for free at monthly Dakota County Fix-It Clinics.
Upcoming Fix-It Clinics will be held:
- Sunday, July 20, 1–4 p.m., Trapp Farm Park (outdoor event), Eagan
Location may change due to weather. Check the website after noon July 18 for any changes. - Saturday, Aug. 16, 10 a.m.–1 p.m., Inver Glen Library, Inver Grove Heights
- Saturday, Sept. 20, 10 a.m.–1 p.m., Rosemount Community Center, Rosemount
- Saturday, Oct. 18, 10 a.m.–1 p.m., Farmington Library, Farmington
- Saturday, Nov. 15, 10 a.m.–1 p.m., Dakota Lodge, West St. Paul
- Saturday, Dec. 6, 10:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m., Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, St. Paul
Bring up to three items that need fixing or mending, along with any tools or parts that might be helpful in the repair. Other items that have been repaired at Fix-It Clinics include lamps, fans, alarm clocks, toys, clothes and more. All items must be clean.
Repair-savvy volunteers will guide residents through each step, from troubleshooting to a completed repair. Items will be accepted until 30 minutes before the end of the event.
Fix-It Clinics reduce unnecessary trash sent to landfills and teach helpful repair skills.
