​Heritage Library in Lakeville closed early Tuesday, Jan. 9 following a threat.
The library received a call from an individual threatening violence Tuesday afternoon. Library staff immediately reported the call to Lakeville police, and staff and visitors were evacuated.
Police searched and cleared the building.
Dakota County Library made the decision to keep the library closed for the rest of the evening. The Lakeville License Center, which shares a building with the library, also closed for the day.
The library and license center plan to resume regular hours Wednesday, Jan. 10.
The Lakeville Police Department is investigating the threat.
Other libraries in Minnesota have received similar bomb threats in recent days.
