To understand an ancestor's motivation to leave behind everything familiar and immigrate to the United States, then migrate within the U.S., we must ask several questions. Why emigrate and then migrate within America? Why then? What that place? What could go wrong? What if the trail has gone cold? This program will help you attempt to answer some of these questions and give you the tools to further explore this fascinating part of your genealogic research.
The presentation will be conducted by Elizabeth Williams Gomoll, CG. She is president of the Association of Professional Genealgosits Northland Chapter, serves as a director for the Minnesota Genealogical Society and is co-editor of the Minnesota Genealogist. Gomoll has received seven awards for her writing and society activities. She researches and lectures as part of Red Bird Genealogy Services.
